Itinerary and highlights
The Gávea Rock is the largest rock close to the seashore in the world. Its name comes from the resemblance to the basket of a mast topsail (gávea in portuguese) that was very traditional in portuguese boats.
The hiking is intense and long, ideal for those who are used to radical sports. The most critical point is the Carrasqueira, a steep stone that you need to use your hands and feet in order to climb it.

Meeting and pickup information
- If you do not contact us to reconfirm pickup time, we assume you will meet us at the Meeting Point at the Front Desk of the Rio Othon Palace (Avenida Atlântica, 3264 - Copacabana).
- Pickup is available from most hotels in the areas of Leblon, Ipanema, Copacabana, Flamengo and Downtown (Centro). Contact us back to adjust the pickup time. For Barra da Tijuca/ Recreio we provide pick-up for an additional rate.
