About this experience
Dive into the rich culture of the Rio Carnival with Brazilian percussion classes. In a studio that is the heart of several blocks of the city, choose from six instruments and learn from experienced percussionists about the history and execution of unique rhythms. It doesn't matter if you are a novice or already play, the experience is inclusive and engaging. After class, you take home a playlist with several of the songs we played together and have the opportunity to rehearse in a real Carnival block.

Itinerary and highlights
Visitors will take a short walk from Largo do Machado to the studio, learning more about the history of the Flamengo and Laranjeiras neighborhoods. Arriving there, they will know a space that has become the headquarters of several Carnival blocks in the city. Let's talk about some of the most played rhythms, such as Ijexá, Forró, Samba-Reggae, Coco, and Samba. The travelers will learn more about six of the most played percussion instruments by the blocks and will choose one, or more, to try. All levels of musical experience are welcome! We will play various rhythms together in a light and fun teaching dynamic. In the end, visitors will take home a playlist with some of the songs we played and will have the opportunity to rehearse in a real Carnival block.
